Description
Not every great trek needs to push you to 15,000 feet. Dodital proves it. Tucked deep inside the Assi Ganga Valley of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand, this trek leads you through one of the most beautiful forest corridors in the Garhwal Himalayas — past deodar, oak, rhododendron, and pine — all the way to a stunning emerald lake sitting quietly at 10,100 feet. That lake is Dodital, believed in Hindu mythology to be the birthplace of Lord Ganesha, and it carries a stillness that’s hard to describe until you’re actually sitting beside it.
